1Sign Out of iCloud & Turn Off Find My iPhone Go to
Settings › [Your Name] › Find My › Find My iPhoneand toggle off. ThenSign Outfrom your Apple ID. This removes Activation Lock and is essential for buyback value. -
2Erase All Content and Settings Go to
Settings › General › Transfer or Reset iPhone › Erase All Content and Settings. This factory resets the device — combined with iPhone's hardware encryption, this is recognised as GDPR-compliant data destruction. -
3Remove from MDM / Apple Business Manager If your iPhone was enrolled in Jamf, Intune, or another MDM via Apple Business Manager / Apple School Manager, your IT team needs to release the device from ABM/ASM before sale — otherwise it remains locked to your organisation.
